A 30,000 square foot project located at 221 West 57th Street, NY, NY, consisting of restaurant/kitchen space in basement, ground floor and mezzanine as well as office space on the second floor.

An air-cooled modular chiller system was designed to provide cooling. An innovative energy conservation approach was adopted to utilize chilled water (60% water and 40% ethylene glycol which has low freezing point) to pre-heat make-up air for kitchen hoods during the winter season. In turn, cold make-up air was used to pre-cool chilled water to minimize to use of chiller compressors.

Several kitchen exhaust systems were provided to support cooking operation in basement, ground floor and mezzanine. Such systems were equipped with precipitators to effectively remove grease and smoke prior to discharging air to the outdoors.
