383 Madison Avenue New York, NY Corporate Headquarters Relocation RDA worked closely with the Bear Stearns design and construction team to develop the core and shell design criteria and assisted the risk analysis team in the single point of failure study to minimize interruption of services. RDA was retained to design the entire fit-out and to oversee the design of the core and shell MEP systems. The building features two (2) 25,000 square foot data centers utilizing chilled water AC units backed up by air cooled systems in the unlikely event of a central plant failure. There is 300,000 square feet of Trading Areas, 600,000 square feet of offices and support spaces, 30,000 square foot cafeteria including a 10,000 square foot cooking kitchen, 8,000 square foot servery and 12,000 square foot dining area. In addition, executive and private dining rooms were constructed and served by an additional 8,000 square foot kitchen. There is a 30,000 square foot conference center and an 8,000 square foot print shop. Other significant technological design features implemented are: • Majority of Building Served by Standby Generators • Two (N+1) UPS Systems with Wet Cell Batteries for 15 Minute Duration • UPS Loads Utilize Static Transfer Switching • Traders Desks Circuited in Salt/Pepper Configuration • Redundant UPS Risers • Water Storage Tank in the Event of City Main Failure • Entire Central Mechanical Plant Configured (N+1) |
