Engineer Tasks:
  • Assisting the other Senior Engineers with leadership duties of the Electrical Department
  • Representing the firm in all interactions with clients, architects, contractors and other project consultants
  • Managing the technical and financial aspects of both large and small projects
  • Preparing proposals and administering project contracts with the client
  • Performing electrical calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation and construction administration
  • Establishing electrical design standards and preparing specifications and design criteria for projects
  • Mentoring our junior electrical engineers and acting as a technical resource
  • Preparing due diligence reports and feasibility studies addressing building electrical systems
  • Preparing technical presentations and participating in business development activities
  • Participating in Quality Control sessions critiquing work completed by the electrical staff
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working as an electrical engineer for a consulting firm in the design of power distribution, lighting, lighting controls and fire alarm systems in the commercial tenant and office building industry
  • Thorough familiarity and understanding of electrical service, distribution fit-out for high-rise commercial office buildings in the NYC market
  • Experience in collaborating with clients and their representatives related to pre-lease services
  • Working knowledge of life-safety and standby power systems including UPS and Generators
  • Understanding of LEED and NYCECC compliant lighting controls
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electric Code, NYC Electrical Code and NYC Energy Conservation Code
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Thorough Understanding of Lighting Control Systems
  • LEED Accreditation.
Engineer Tasks:
  • Read engineering drawings and specifications in order to understand MEP systems and prepare commissioning scripts for testing various designs from an equipment level to a full system level
  • Perform field surveys, investigations, reviews of installed or existing equipment and produce documents for reporting findings
  • Work in close contact with a project’s design team, construction contractors/subcontractors, equipment manufacturer vendors and client representatives
  • Commissioning of MEP systems for a variety of projects under the supervision of a Senior Commissioning Engineer
  • 1-5 years relevant hands-on experience of MEP systems and equipment for commercial interiors and/or infrastructure construction projects
  • Military service a plus
  • Associates degree a plus
  • Proficiency in the latest version Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus
  • Must be an effective team player and be self-motivated
  • Able to work afterhours and/or weekends when a project schedule warrants so
Engineer Tasks:
  • Process background and setup drawings and make it ready for team to work on
  • Review project files for compliance with Standards/protocols
  • Implement best practice procedures
  • Assisting Engineers in drawing production
  • Produce accurate 2D drawings and/or 3D models
  • Experience in HVAC
  • Minimum 1 -2 years experience in REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office Tools
  • Must be an effective team player and self-motivated

Job Responsibilities

  • Design of plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of commercial, residential and retail projects.
  • Create plans, schematics, equipment selection, calculations, systems narratives and specifications, system design and layout, field investigations and construction supervision.
  • Perform design work using AutoCADD and BIM/REVIT modeling software
  • Attend meetings with other project consultants.
  • Work in close contact with the entire design team.
  • Comply with group and company standards and procedures.


  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Working Knowledge of AutoCADD and/or REVIT is a plus. .
  • Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) certificate is desirable but not necessary.
  • Must be an effective team player and self-motivated.
