We are actively hiring for our new Morristown, NJ office and are currently seeking an individual with 5+ years of experience in HVAC engineering. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, an effective team player, and will aid in the growth and success of the office.

Engineer Tasks:
  • Project Management: coordinating the engineering team to deliver cohesive and complete project packages. Acting as the day to day liaison for clients and architects on projects and attending client meetings through the construction process.
  • Representing the firm in all interactions with clients, architects, contractors and other project consultants.
  • Performing mechanical calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation and construction administration.
  • Establishing mechanical design standards and preparing specifications and design criteria for projects.
  • Being the HVAC design lead on projects by aiding our junior mechanical engineers and acting as a technical resource.
  • Preparing due diligence reports and feasibility studies addressing building mechanical systems.
  • Preparing technical presentations and participating in business development activities.
  • Participating in Quality Control sessions critiquing work completed by the mechanical staff.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration desirable but not necessary.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as mechanical engineer for a consulting firm in the design of HVAC systems.
  • Thorough familiarity and understanding of mechanical infrastructure and distribution fit-out for commercial office buildings.
  • Experience in collaborating with clients and their representatives related to pre-lease services.
  • Thorough understanding of the International Mechanical Code.
  • Understanding of LEED and International Energy Conservation Codes.
  • Working Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
Engineer Tasks:
  • Assisting the other Senior Engineers with leadership duties of the Electrical Department
  • Representing the firm in all interactions with clients, architects, contractors and other project consultants
  • Managing the technical and financial aspects of both large and small projects
  • Preparing proposals and administering project contracts with the client
  • Performing electrical calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation and construction administration
  • Establishing electrical design standards and preparing specifications and design criteria for projects
  • Mentoring our junior electrical engineers and acting as a technical resource
  • Preparing due diligence reports and feasibility studies addressing building electrical systems
  • Preparing technical presentations and participating in business development activities
  • Participating in Quality Control sessions critiquing work completed by the electrical staff
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working as an electrical engineer for a consulting firm in the design of power distribution, lighting, lighting controls and fire alarm systems in the commercial tenant and office building industry
  • Thorough familiarity and understanding of electrical service, distribution fit-out for high-rise commercial office buildings in the NYC market
  • Experience in collaborating with clients and their representatives related to pre-lease services
  • Working knowledge of life-safety and standby power systems including UPS and Generators
  • Understanding of LEED and NYCECC compliant lighting controls
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electric Code, NYC Electrical Code and NYC Energy Conservation Code
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Thorough Understanding of Lighting Control Systems
  • LEED Accreditation.
Engineer Tasks:
  • Process background and setup drawings and make it ready for team to work on
  • Review project files for compliance with Standards/protocols
  • Implement best practice procedures
  • Assisting Engineers in drawing production
  • Produce accurate 2D drawings and/or 3D models
Qualifications:
  • Experience in HVAC
  • Minimum 1 -2 years experience in REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office Tools
  • Must be an effective team player and self-motivated

Job Responsibilities

  • Design of plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of commercial, residential and retail projects.
  • Create plans, schematics, equipment selection, calculations, systems narratives and specifications, system design and layout, field investigations and construction supervision.
  • Perform design work using AutoCADD and BIM/REVIT modeling software
  • Attend meetings with other project consultants.
  • Work in close contact with the entire design team.
  • Comply with group and company standards and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Working Knowledge of AutoCADD and/or REVIT is a plus.
  • Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) certificate is desirable but not necessary.
  • Must be an effective team player and self-motivated.

Tasks

  • Process background and setup drawings and make it ready for team to work on.
  • Generate and adapt SIA Standard details to current project situation.
  • Implement best practice procedures.
  • Assisting Consultants in drawing production.
  • Produce accurate 2D drawings and/or 3D models.
  • Ability to accurately and clearly document our choices for client.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Drafting and basic understanding of Acoustics.
  • Minimum 1 -2 years experience AutoCAD.
  • REVIT experience and interest in learning valued.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office Tools.
  • Must be an effective team player and self-motivated.

Future

  • Advancement to Consultant possible.

Engineer Tasks

  • Assisting the other consultant(s) with Project work.
  • Representing the firm in all interactions with clients, architects, contractors and other project consultants.
  • Managing the technical and financial aspects of both large and small projects.
  • Preparing proposals and administering project contracts with the client.
  • Performing acoustical calculations, selection of construction details for recommendations, equipment specification, field investigation and construction administration.
  • Understanding of Acoustical Measurement techniques (Smaart system preferred).
  • Understanding and calculations or acoustical standard values (STC, TL, NC, RT, etc…).
  • Establishing acoustical design standards and preparing specifications and design criteria for projects.
  • Mentoring our junior acoustical engineers and acting as a technical resource.
  • Preparing due diligence reports and studies addressing acoustical issues.
  • Preparing technical presentations and participating in business development activities.
  • Participating in Quality Control sessions critiquing work completed by the acoustical staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Acoustics or related field. Master's prefered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an acoustical consultant for a consulting firm in the design of sound critical spaces.
  • Experience in collaborating with clients and their representatives related to pre-lease services.
  • Ability to read and understand complex architectural drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thorough Understanding of Sound System Design, Tuning and operation.
